Network Marketing Reports #6

Monday, May 11th, 2009

In this session we will look at some of the fundamental tools that you need to have a successful Network marketing business.

Here are some of the important tools that you need:

1. A Bank Account

This is a business and as such you need to open a bank account for your Network marketing business. This can be a current account where you can bank in your commission checks and sales income. It also allows you to issue checks to make your payments.

You should apply for a credit card or a debit card. This will allow you to make payments easily.

2. Business Cards

You are now a businessman and as such you should have your own name card to distribute. You should check with your upline leaders the designs that are used by the whole team. You should use the same design and format as others in the team.

3. A working place

You may be working from home but you do need a proper working environment. Have your working table, chairs and other equipments in a convenient place where you will not be disturbed. You should have all the necessary tools and equipments close at hand. This could be your computer, printer, fax machine, telephone, filing cabinets, etc.

4. Your Prospecting Tools. This could consist of:

- name list
- brochures
- flyers
- testimonials
- booklets
- books
- CDs and cassette tapes
- pre approach packs
- others

5. Your Sponsoring Tools. This could consist of:

- sponsoring files
- power point presentations
- LCD projectors
- lap top computer
- application forms
- other materials

6. You training materials. This could consist of:

- books
- power points
- training materials
- CDs, DVDs, audios, videos, etc
- booklets
- others

7. Others. This could consist of:

- replicated web site
- Online training and presentation
- conference room for online meeting and presentation
- others

The above are some of the necessary tools and resources that you need to have a successful Network Marketing business. The above list is not meant to be exhaustive. There may be others not mentioned above.

So do you have all these tools available? If you have congratulation! If not then you should consider getting
them to assist in growing your business. “I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or
neglect it for I shall not pass this way again.”

That is all for this session. In the next session we will look at using the Internet to propel our Network Marketing business to new heights.

Network Marketing Reports #5

I hope that you are learning something from the previous sessions. Please go back and review all the previous sessions. I have tried to make it as simple as possible and yet provide you with the information and strategies to improve your Network marketing business.

In this session I will show you why some of the things you have been taught about the Network Marketing business may no longer work. They go against the System Solution Factor and you’ll have problem growing your business. Let us look at a few examples and you’ll understand what I mean.

I remembered years ago when I was involved with my previous Network Marketing company I used to carry a bag containing some demonstration products. I will visit my prospects house and show them the product demos. Hey, it was great training but it really goes against the system solution factor. What do
you think my prospects will be thinking? Ahem… you expect me to do the same thing. Visit my friends’ house with a demo bag and do what you are doing?

I believe you are beginning to see what I am trying to tell you. The first impression is very important. If the
prospect thinks that it is going to be difficult to do the business…will he be open to the business? The business must appear easy so that your prospects will say, “If he can do it, I can do that too”.

I remembered years ago in my first Network Marketing company, I was told by my upline to make a prospect list of say 100 names. This is good practice but there are 2 main problems here.

1. The people that you listed on the list are normally people whom you know and are close to you. I am not sure if you realized it yet but the people closest to you are the most difficult to convince. They know you too well. They know that you have failed before and have joined a few Network marketing companies before. Most of them may ridicule you. I know that some of them will say this…You go ahead first and prove it to me. Come back when you have success!

2. When you run out of names on the list, what is next? Most distributors will say that they have run out of
prospects and that it is not easy to do the business. They are not used to approaching the cold market and will just remain as product user or quit the business.

The above approach of making a prospect or name list is still good. But we should also look at other venues…How would you like to learn how to approach the millions of prospects out there? You will never run out of prospects and it is rejection free. We will look at this in later session.

These are two good examples of things that most network marketers do that go against the system solution factors. These are the old ways of doing things and may no longer be productive. I am sure you can think of other things that may be counter productive and go against the system solution factor.

If we wish to remain competitive we have to change the way we do business. Without change we will be like the dinosaurs that became extinct because they cannot adapt to changes.

As Anthony Robbins quoted, “The definition of INSANITY is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting a different result”.

Always think how you can improve and make things work out better. You need to be creative to excel.

That is all for this session. I believe this is an important session and most network marketers are doing the
business the old ways. Hey, I agree that certain basic fundamentals remain the same such as building good
relationships.

“One’s philosophy is not best expressed in words; it is expressed in the choices one makes. In the long run, we shape our lives and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And, the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility.”

To Your Success,

“How to set up a Simple System” for your Network Marketing business.

If you wish to build a large business you need to have a simple system to duplicate to your organization. Why is a System important? Take a look at McDonalds and KFC…they have excellent system in place and their business is global.

Having a System ensures that all your team members have a roadmap to follow. There is no confusion and everyone in the team will be doing the same thing. If your Upline leader have an existing system then just plug into it. Here are some pointers to setting up a good system. The whole idea is to have an excellent duplication system.

1. There must be a SYSTEM in place

The system will cover the ways of doing the business. This includes:

- presentation materials
- pre-approach packs (brochures, flyers, testimonials, Cds,
- name cards
- training materials
- seminars and boot camps
- tools and resources
- others

2. The System must be SIMPLE to follow

This is crucial if you want to build a large organization. Everyone in the team should be able to follow the system. This includes those who are not highly educated like house maids, housewives, students, etc.

When talking about the products, do not be too technical. Think about it…a house maid should be able to follow and duplicate the system.

We are in the business of building a Network of business builders and NOT in the business of training salesmen to salesman. Therefore sell more of the dreams rather than the products!

3. The System must be the SAME

This is extremely important. Look at McDonalds as an example. Do you see that everything they do is the same where ever the outlets are located?

So make sure that everything in the system is similar where ever it is being used. This includes the presentation materials, the tools and resources, etc.

When there is uniformity there is no confusion and the organization can grow easily.

4. FOLLOW the System

When a system is in place make sure that everyone in the organization are trained to follow it and duplicate it down the organization.

I cannot over stress the importance of having a System. If you want to build a large organization, then you need to have an effective system that can easily be duplicated. That is all for this session. I’ll see you in the next session on “The System Solution Factors”.

“There are two primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for
changing them.”

What is the Mindset needed to ensure your success ?

People who succeed do things that make them successful. On the other hand people who fail continuously do things that make them a failure.

Success is a matter of habit. Change your bad habits and adopt good habits and you are sure to achieve success. In this short session I do not have the time to go through all the various mindset and habits that is required for success. Here are the important ones that you should look at:

1. A Business of your own

Your Network Marketing business is a business of your own. As such you should treat it that way. You should treat it like a BIG business although the investment to get started is very small.

You should be accountable for the failure and success of your business. Remember that you are not working for the company you are with. You are also not working for your Uplines. Hey, you are not making your upline rich! You are running you own business.

It is not the responsibility of your upline to help you although in most cases they will be willing to work with
you because they have interest in your success. If it is your own business you should do whatever it takes
to become successful. This involves your commitment to time and money.

2. Be a Leader

Network Marketing is a business of building leadership qualities. The faster you can take over the leadership, the faster your business will grow. Be a leader and improve yourself. Take part in activities organized by your team and spend self improvement time. Read books and listen to cassettes and
CDs.

3. Persistency

When you build your Network Marketing business you will face many obstacles and challenges. Well what’s new. We face obstacles and challenges even when we are not involved with Network Marketing!

The most important thing is to remain focus and keep on going. Rome was not built in a day. Success takes time!

“Success is built on inconvenience. It is convenient to remain broke for the rest of your life if you choose to be convenience.”

Another statement that I hold dearly is “Success is a package deal. You cannot separate success from the
challenges. You have to accept both because they come in a package”.

So you need to be persistent. Find a “running partner” and promise each other that both of you will not quit for at least 2 years. I promise you that if you work your business seriously, you will be financially f.ree within the 2 years.

4. Follow the System

If your upline leaders have a System in place just follow them. You do not need to reinvent the wheels. If they do not have one then you need to set up one for your team.

Remember you are a leader!

5. Edification

Edification is crucial to keep the team together. You should support the team and edify your upline leaders and your downlines. You should also edify and speak good things about those in your sidelines. A harmonious team spirit is essential to building a large and strong organization.

These are some of the mindset and attitudes that will ensure your success in your Network Marketing business. As I said the list is not a complete one but I am sure these 5 points can
have a dramatic impact on your business.
